The Deaths while at Ballyclare Junction

Rachel Kinnen/Palmer was present at the death of her mother in law Mabel Palmer [Madden] 20/3/1884 in Ballyhenry – this must have meant that her mother-in-law was living with them in Ballyclare Junction.  She died of old age and senility at the age of 78.  This is of course who Mabel McCracken/Palmer was named after.

On the 28/8/1884 John Palmer, Mabel's Husband died.  It was noted on the certificate that he had debility for one year and had no medical attention.  Rachel Palmer, his daughter-in-law was present at the death in Ballyhenry.  He was aged 70 years and a widow [obviously]. His occupation was recorded as a farm labourer.

In 2/7/1885 just after Sam was born Rachel and Sam lost Rachel Palmer aged 2 to Tubercular Enlargement of the Liver.  Samuel Palmer [Stationmaster at that time] was present at the death in Ballyhenry – this would have been Ballyclare Junction.

Then on 22/2/1887 Rachel Palmer/Kinnen died from Congestion of the Brain [8 days].  She was only 32.  Samuel Palmer her husband was present at the death.   Sam would have been only 2 years old.  Margaret the eldest would have been 9 years old.
